“for me life is a process of constantly forgetting and remembering how to care for myself and each time I remember some basic thing it’s a revelation.” 💜
Ahhhh! Love the awkward conversation with the men coming to do work on your house… I always want to try to act like I know about what they are repairing, while i simultaneously wonder if they watch their own porn category. (Has anyone else had to hire someone to install a sink fixture with an 8 inch spread?)
The subterranean mention made the blood rush in my body, terrifying and thrilling all at once. And then I thought it would be amazing to see what was going on, like a gigantic ant farm. 🪳
Have you read Liz Lenz’s This American Ex-Wife? Or Cat Bohannon’s Eve? What about Jen Beagin’s Big Swiss? I’m so happy to hear that your amazing book and “club” will be able to finance a house. Now that is a very exciting American dream and goes great with lavender lace!
Ya know, I felt like I was noticing more men here last week. Oh, Hugh, nice shout-out!
That dress is so you. I love being able to not stress about taking apart some vintage thing. I do hate when I ruin something (usually if I'm going too fast with scissors), but when you get it just right, and it totally suits you, ooh, I love that.
Alsooooo, maybe when you need a new book some time, you'll try out mine. Just an idea 🙄.
Oh shit! Almost forgot! Happy birthday! And I hope you don’t feel too much regret for sharing with the freebies. The post is great and doesn’t seem too revealing from this side of the screen.
Have you read If Only by Hegdis Vjorth? It’s a claustrophobic roman à clef of a doomed, obsessive, deeply horny love affair from the perspective of a female writer. Probably not anything you’d be into…
If you haven't read it, My Struggle by Karl Ove Knausgaard is both a page-turner and clocks in at almost 4000 pages over 6 volumes. It may be that I read them around the time my own father had died, but few books have hit me over the head with a sledgehammer like those books did.

Subterranean termite damage sounds almost exciting
The cloth napkins! Oh my heart.. 💜

Men's groups are all the rage in men's phone conversations. Now I gotta read the book.
my favorite days are the days an MJ sentence throws me off balance in the best possible way.
"I have trouble letting go of certain thing and other things I have trouble holding on to."
whew!
