Voting for you to wear the final incarnation of the yellow dress for the screening of Me and You and Everyone We Know at Vidiots later this month. Full circle moment, or at least a cheeky nod for newsletter subscribers. Maybe we all wear yellow and simply give each other a long, meaningful look–– somehow a wink seems too much–– but never speak of it.

In my “weird phase” that i’m in right now clothes have been and are so important for anchoring myself and for finding new confidence in my changing body. So important to share this or we fall back into minimizing the things that are actually hugely supportive to our wellbeing!

I remember consciously deciding to make a thing out of doing my daughters’ hair for them every day and talking about it as a way of bonding, even though this had been an inherited source of shame for me before, having been labeled as vanity by my mother and her mother when i was little. Same goes for clothes and makeup. Now my girls and i are connecting over all of these things! such a blessing when not much else is left for us to find joy in, just as you said!

the lavender one is a real show stopper! the yellow one definitely has potential!

Loved that movie and someone who was a ringer for the girl with her trousseau all planned out appeared in my life in 2009. She was nineteen. I had not a clue about autism nor did she. What a mighty force. Had a tiger by the tail until three years ago when she came to me and said I think I’ve been a lesbian all along. She still helps me and runs our business the former Roadside Rest for the Weary and Volatile now a quiet artist’s shetl in Oakland. This is fantastic what you are doing activating this now international brigade. Clothes have the same place in my life; I hang out on ebay…boys don’t shop…I have the place all to myself sometimes. I had to reform when I saved money when I got carried away and bought a six hundred dollar pair of shoes for only $200. Now my limit is $20. Won a $3k suit for $9.99 which had four dollars in the pants pocket bringing the price down to $5.99.

The lavender dress was such a score. The Colour is pretty on pretty. You’ve inspired me to pull out a vintage score to get me through meetings. Beautiful vintage clothes are a play escape for me too. Yes to the yellow dress too and all its incarnations.

Brava, that dress is a jolt of lavender cheer! It feels comforting and powerful to have pieces of clothing that feel timeless and particular to who we are. For me, it's ribbed stockings and a green velvet jacket (first a thrifted one, then a brand new one). Lately, I've been thinking about buying a J Crew roll neck sweater like the one I wore in college; because lately most sweaters I've bought have pilled right off the bat. Anyone have any good sweater brands to recommend?

That looks fantastic! I don’t know if you shave your pubic hair (and I’m not saying this to be creepy) but it would look amazing with some pubic hair showing underneath that delicate lacy fabric - a wonderful contrast!
